MountainVision News

August 2010

July 2010

  • MVX goes to Mexico...climb a mountain, raft a river, rappel into the jungle and participate in a "Dinner in the Dark". A 7 day adventure in February, 2011 (over Presidents Day weekend). An amazing way to experience Mexico. All the details can be found on the Mexico Adventure page.
  • Soldiers To The Summit documentary trailer

June 2010

  • Our annual MVX training climb was a blast! Folks flew in from various parts of the country to join us in Aspen...spending the weekend ascending Mt Sopris just outside of town. Great fun and a huge success.
  • Many of the folks on this year's Grand Kilimanjaro Expedition in August are "climbin for a cause". The group is coming together to climb Kili to raise money for a wonderful organization called "Kids Escaping Drugs". A worthwhile non profit based out of Buffalo, NY that, as the name implies...helps young people kick the badness.

May 2010

  • The annual MVX training climb will take place in Aspen this year. It is a weekend of friends, fellowship, trekking and chat. The initial meeting will take place in Aspen on Friday, June 4th. We will be climbing a local 14er on Saturday with some casual hiking on Sunday the 6th. Very relaxed and fun. Open to all past and future MVX clients. Contact Jeff for more details.

April 2010

  • Soldiers To The Summit website is up and running.
  • Sponsor A Wounded Warrior! We are presenting opportunities for select corporate groups to sponsor one of our soldiers for the Soldiers To The Summit adventure this October.

    Sponsor Opportunities

Great challenges deserve great publicity. The Soldiers to the Summit Himalayan Expedition is an exciting candidate for media attention. Clearly not a mere publicity stunt, this climb offers a compelling story about true heroes trying to better themselves and fellow injured soldiers.

A documentary film team will accompany the SSHE, either for national network coverage or a film. Michael Brown, who produced the award-winning film “Farther Than The Eye Can See” (21 international film festival awards;  named by Men’s Journal as one of the Twenty Best Adventure DVDs of all time) about the Erik’s Everest climb, has himself climbed Everest four times and operates Serac Adventure Films (http://www.seracfilms.com) and has won numerous awards including 3 Emmys. Imbedded with the film team will be five active Marines who are learning the craft.`1 SSHE will also include a professional still photographer and a writer who can provide images and articles to media and sponsors. We are actively working with one major national publication for an extensive feature story. During the expedition, we will update the web site with blog posts to keep people at home involved.

    Presenting Sponsor: $150,000
    Summit Sponsor: $50,000
    Base Camp Sponsor: $25,000
    Sponsor an Injured Soldier: $10,000
    Film Sponsor: $250,000
    Support Trekkers: $15,000

  • Anyone that has read about the tragic earthquake in Haiti is well aware of the devastation that it caused. Families torn apart...infrastructure in shambles. At this point it appears that they are actually turning relief workers away simply due to lack of water and supplies to take care of the victims, much less the volunteer workers. So what can we do? Donate. The most reliable resource out there has been and will always be the Red Cross. Please donate..even $10 would help. This website makes it easy...Red Cross.
  • The World TEAM Sports Himalayan Expedition is ready for launch this Fall. Jeff will be leading a 40 person team that will consist of 12 US soldiers that were wounded in Iraq or Afghanastan.
